Bursary scheme

Further Education

Through the Sheringham Shoal Community Fund, Scira has introduced a Bursary Scheme to help young people from low income families in Norfolk to study engineering at one of three Norfolk colleges – the College of West Anglia in Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth College and City College in Norwich. Each year funding is available for 20 students to each receive a bursary of £500 per annum to study the BTEC Diploma in Engineering Level 3 through to graduation.

Site Visits: Strong links with Lowestoft College, College of West Anglia, City College in Norwich and Great Yarmouth College have seen the commencement of a structured programme of student visits to the Sheringham Shoal Operations and Maintenance base, Wind Farm Place; these visits enable students to learn a little more of just what is practically involved in the real life daily operation and maintenance of an offshore wind power plant.
